Gerd Küchler - Konstruktivistische Malerei

Meine künstlerische Arbeit verstehe ich als ernsthaftes und konsequentes Finden von Möglichkeiten des flächigen und linearen Fabulierens und des Zurückführens alles Sichtbaren auf das Substantielle. Das ohnehin Sichtbare sichtbar zu machen, ist nicht Thema, sondern mein Anliegen ist es, das Bild konstruktiv und geometrisch zu abstrahieren (Konstruktivismus).
Mich interessieren Farbe und Form als dynamisierende, harmonisierende und kontrastierende Kräfte.

"Gerd Küchler hat sich als einer der jüngeren Vertreter konstruktivkonkreter Kunst mittlerweile durchgesetzt. Am Beginn standen Werke, in denen er – ähnlich wie einst Hermann Glöckner - aus dem Sichtbaren in Landschaft, Architektur und Natur die geometrische Substanz herausfilterte. Später verselbständigten sich die gewonnenen Formen und Farben zu konstituierenden Faktoren seines Schaffens. Diese wie auch künstlerische Bezüge – Küchler nennt verschiedentlich außer Glöckner auch Mondrian, Scully oder Richter -, ebenso Atmosphärisches sowie aus Beobachtungen oder einem musikalischen Erlebnis, etwa Bachs Goldbergvariationen, gewonnene Inspirationen werden zum Thema."
